Chattanooga, a city in Tennessee, will be the place where whiskey lovers will converge to celebrate two successful years of its namesake’s whiskey company. The Chattanooga Whiskey Co. will be hosting a soiree at its Market Street address at Tennessee Stillhouse Micro-Distillery, tomorrow, March 24. It will also be unveiling its new brand image and logo, at the party.
A startup at Scenic City, the Chattanooga Whiskey Co., is recognized for having aided in re-legalizing whiskey and spirits’ distillation in the state of Tennessee. It started whiskey distillation at a small-scale across the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel. The micro-distillery has produced straight bourbon whiskeys in two variants – 1816 Reserve and 1816 Cask. The number 1816 was the year, when the first trading post was established along the River Tennessee. The post was the location that eventually became Chattanooga city.
Chattanooga Whiskey Co., in the previous year hosted a similar event that attracted about 20,000 visitors. It also received a recommendation from a popular regional magazine, and was featured among the “Best Places to Visit in the South.”
Currently, Chattanooga whiskeys are being sold in two other states apart from Tennessee – South Carolina and Georgia. Co-founder Tim Piersant asserted that the 2,500 barrels being produced in a year was not enough to meet the patrons’ demands.
Chattanooga Whiskey Co. has been planning a large-scale expansion for the past few years. Its new distillery has been under construction and will be coming up in Riverfront Parkway, in the near future. The company has announced that it had plans of increasing its bourbon whiskey production to 14 barrels per day in its new facility.
