Governor of Richmond, Terry McAuliffe, released a statement confirming Filibuster Distillery’s expansion in Shenandoah County. With an investment of USD795, 000, Filibuster is set to broaden operations of whiskey production, and in the process, create eight new jobs over the coming three years.
Diageo PLC is reportedly investing EUR25 million in a new distillery to create a premium Irish whiskey at James’s Gate, the Dublin city home to the Guinness brewery. It has been two years since they sold their Irish whiskey brand Bushmills to Jose Cuervo, a renowned tequila brand.
American Born is all set to introduce a new line of whiskey into its domestic market. A recent acquisition by spirits producer Milestone Brands LLC, American Born will soon launch three new products. These include two 70-proof whiskeys infused with real fruit, (Apple and Peach) and an 83-proof Bourbon Whiskey.
Award-winning distiller Robert Cassell left Philadelphia Distilling in 2014 to start the New Liberty Distillery in Kensington. What followed was a two-year hiatus, when many thought the master blender was taking a sabbatical. Proving all such assumptions wrong, Cassell recently released the New Liberty Distillery’s first aged whiskey, the Pennsylvania Dutch Malt.
The Irish whiskey sector is set to welcome a new addition to its repertoire of distilleries. Slane Distillery, currently under construction, is expected to be ready for operations by July.
Located in County Meath at Boyne Valley, the distillery gains its name from the famous Slane Castle — the grounds of which it stands on.
