On World Chocolate Day, chocolate lovers from all over the world unite to celebrate perhaps the most delicious discovery made by man in centuries. Celebrated on 7th July each year, World Chocolate Day is commemorated by consuming chocolate in whatever form you like it.

Of course none of us really require a specific day to express our love for the things we treasure the most, whether it’s chocolate or whisky but it is always nice to have a reason to do so.

For our community of whiskey lovers that also happen to share a penchant for the delicious chocolaty goodness, we have the perfect whiskey cocktails that combine your favourite sinful indulgences.

The Irish Coffee Affogato is a unique twist on a traditional Italian coffee-based dessert that comprises of a shot of espresso and vanilla ice-cream. Although you can see why this combination can be made significantly better with some good ol’ Irish whiskey wouldn’t you say?

Ingredients

  • Jameson Irish whiskey – 30 ML
  • Kahlua Cream – 15 ML
  • Vanilla/Coffee Flavoured Ice-Cream – 1 Scoop
  • Cold Brew Coffee – 60 ML
  • Whipped Cream – For Garnish

The Process

Step 1: Combine the Cold Brew Coffee, Jameson Irish whiskey and Kahlua Cream in a tumbler glass, or coffee mug of your choice. Gently stir with a bar spoon.

Step 2: Scoop out your favourite vanilla or coffee flavoured ice-cream and add to the container.

Step 3: Add a dollop of whipped cream for garnish.
