Bangalore is the quintessential urban city that moves in sync with the west. The influence is not lost in its pubs and bars as we see a greater focus on nuevo-cocktails and custom brews. Arguably the most talked about brewpub of the nation, Toit, is in Bangalore. The place, which is almost never without a decent queue outside, has a host of brews and some lip-smacking finger food. Then there is Sky Lounge atop U.B City, Mr. Mallya’s money-spinning luxury mall. Also located on the second floor is City Bar which is a laid back place to unwind. Other notable joints are the Drunken Monkey, The 13th Floor, Pecos and the Biere Club. The Hard Rock Café in Bangalore deserves a special mention for the layout.

My pub crawl in Bangalore used to be around St Marks road moving on to Brigade road and MG Road, and this was mostly having a quick mug of draught beer and only if the music and the pub was fun enough would we stick around for more.

But once I aged and started working, I preferred sticking around for more and sipping cocktails and then snacking or moving on to a meal and then sometimes cheesing this off with a beer or a liqueur (depending on the occasion).

As a result I started preferring restaurants that also serve alcohol. On the last two occasions I was in Bangalore, I loved the Hard Rock Cafe where I got a real heady range of cocktails (and they serve them large too). Around the corner is O Calcutta and I love drinking there as I can have a full bengali meal there, but also because they serve some of their complimentary ‘chakhna’ which is hard to beat. I also prefer the Taj Westend’s poolside bar - the best place to relax and unwind – though I haven't been there for some time now.

If you belong to the software back ground and have never tasted whisky, then you always be missing something in life. Bangalore is known to be the hub of software in India. So, if you are new there, and searching for the best place to drink, i will recommend a few budget bars where you can enjoy your advent into a new life in the Silicon Valley of India

  1. Big Pitcher: The best thing about this bar is that if you are a heavy drinker, then there is a special service in which one of their waiters will drop you home safely. They call it the ‘Valet Drop-off Service’. In this bar, you can enjoy "musical carnival" and you will get all the things (in terms of drinks and food) that you can get in a reputed, high end bar, that too within a budget of Rs. 2000 for two people. Now that’s cheap! The timing of that bar is from 11 AM to 1 AM.
  2. Hammered: Well, this is also one of the top rated bars in Bangalore. The cost of two people here is only Rs. 1200 and the timings are from 11 AM to 1 AM.
  3. Trippler on the Roof: This place is quite lovely. It is spacious and also has an open seating where you can enjoy your drinks along with the pleasant weather of Bangalore. The cost of two people here is just Rs. 1300 and the timings are from 12 PM to 1 AM.

I have been to almost all pubs and bars in Bangalore, and after years of hitting all those different places, I cay say confidently that the best bars and pubs in Bangalore have got to be these-

  • District 6

This posh microbrewery offers both fine dining and classic brews. If you have been on the lookout for a cozy, low profile spot to have a glass of beer with your dinner, this is it.

  • Loft 38

Located in Indiranagar, Loft 38 is another upscale place. It has three amazing levels. The best thing about the place is the music and live performances by global artists. The bartenders and DJ are top class too! Food is great!

  •

If you are in koramangala, then Fenny’s is the place to be at! This open roof top place is beautiful. They have a well stocked bar and delicious food! The DJ, dance floor and upbeat tunes will lift up your mood instantly.

  • Church Street Social

Well it is Social. Period.

  • Skyye, City Bar

Definitely the highest and most happening bar in Bangalore! This wonderful rooftop lounge has beautiful lit up floors, high seating and a spacious dance floor as well. Not to forget the vivid rainbow LED lighting!

I’m so excited to comment, I will not even waste time in trying to build up an intro!

Anytime in Bangalore, you simply have to check out these places no matter what!

Starting with my favorite, Pecos! This is the kind of bar that literally calls out to you to come and dance the night away! They have beautiful interiors, cozy seating, a great bar, groovy tunes, a delectable menu and the choice of both inside-outside dining! Love it!

Then there’s Opus, elegantly simple and downright classy! It looks more like a studio where you can come to enjoy wine, art and music! The very popular KroaKnight aka karaoke night sees some real serious talent every week! Don’t miss out on this awesome place!

I’m also a fan of Bangalore’s highest bar, the Skyye Lounge! This rooftop stunner is adorned with dim neon lights and a seductive light up floor! Their events include Karaoke nights, book readings, art exhibitions, and stand-up performances!

If like me, you too enjoy soaking up some local culture, City Bar is where you need to be! With luxurious contemporary interiors, a grand bar, and a wide screen TV, this is your Go-to place during those important matches you just can’t miss!

Honorable mentions- Watson’s !

That’s all folks

I work and stay in Patna. Bihar has been declared a dry state since last two years so we have to visit other places mostly for drinking. Bangalore I have been only twice since I started drinking. My favourite hangout is “High Ultra Lounge”. It gives me a very beautiful cityscape; has a wide variety of pan Asian menu. I also love the “The 13th Floor”. It also gives a very beautiful panoramic view of the city from the top and serve lovely Asian dishes.  I have also heard “Gilly’s Resto Bar” to be good enough but haven’t been able to visit it.

For a couple of years back in the early 2000s the night life scene in the IT capital of India had been hit by strict laws due to which places had to be closed down by 11:30 and no later. Things have improved ever since and here are some of the best bars in Bengaluru.

Toit Brewpub: The place has become a legend in the last few years alone

The 13th Floor: The old timer which is still one of the top position holders

High Ultra Lounge: The location is the rooftop of world trade center in Bangalore, and this is the highest place in Bangalore to get high. The place is a bit heavier on the pocket.

Skyye

With a place set up on the 16th floor, you are bound to see unique, spectacular views of Bengaluru city. The place is so popular that most people have made peace with standing in the place with their drinks as getting a place to sit in almost impossible. The place gets crowded even on weekdays and is more famous for its drinks and the EDM they play.

High Ultra Lounge

Here is a bar famous for its cocktails and a setup which can host parties at ease. They have some decent packages if you actually want to throw a party. Stationed on the 30th floor, this place provides for some brilliant views of Bengaluru and has an ambiance which is pleasant.

The Biere Club

We are talking about one of the oldest breweries in the city, and the owners named this place in German fashion because, well, the Germans know their beer. Biere Club is never short on the prettiest faces from town. The place has lots of room on the inside which is perfect for hangouts.

Bangalore or Bengaluru, however, you like to call it, could have easily been at the fore front of the
night life scene in the country if it were not for the restrictions laid out in the early 2000s. But even
then Bangalore has churned out some of the best bars in the country one after the other. Here
are some from my personal list:
The 13th Floor: Pubs and Bars have come, gotten famous and old and vanished too, but the 13th
floor has managed to stay the test of all times good and bad. Even now, there’s only a handful of
places that manage a view as their roof-top one. Bangalore’s lovely weather breeze adds to the
experience of this place.
Pecos: Both Pecos and Mojos on Brigade road have a following of their own and the crowds are
specific thanks to their mind blowing, finger licking good food.
Mofers Packers & Movers Pvt Ltd: If you are looking for a promising global variety of food and
drinks, then look no further than Mofers for a brilliant menu of American, European and Asian
specialties.
Toit Brewpub: One of the best places in the city and obviously the in the country, to go and
experience in-house

Pecos: To start with Pecos is an old timer and is pretty famous for some of the best food that

comes with chilled beer. They are virtually indistinguishable from any Indie rock bar in the

world except for the Indian brands of beer that flourish here and there. Many people vouch

for their beef preparation and call their squid a must try.

Skyye: UB city in Bengaluru is one of the most famous hangouts when it comes to having a

good evening, and Skyye was setup on the 16th floor for an unparalleled experience. It is the

second highest eatery in a city which does not build tall towers for some weird reason.

If you are looking to free your feet to music while enjoying drinks, Skyye will definitely not

disappoint you.

Toit’s: Get ready to get into what’s probably the best bar in Bengaluru but with this fame also

comes the requirement of getting a reservation before you go in because it’s impossible to

get a seat on weekends.

The place has a bricked wall appearance, and the lighting here sets the mood for the

remainder of your evening. Sample from a large variety of in-house brewed beer and go for

any of their snacks. The place does not disappoint you.
