This 16 year old from Orkney's Scapa was relaunched in 2008.
The nose is quite thick and rich with notes of honeycomb and toffee. There are some notes of dried peels and notes of marmalade with a malty texture.
The palate is full-bodied with a silken delivery. Notes of heather roots and cut grasses, honeyed oak notes with winter spices; cinnamon and cloves. There are some acacia honey notes.
The finish is long and developing with notes of dry oak and a gentle, weaving smoke.
