The Glenlivet 21-Year-Old is a single malt whisky from the historic eponymous Speyside distillery, and is one of the oldest expressions from The Glenlivet brand.

In 1822, founder George Smith was beginning to nurture his craft and the brand that would go on to become The Glenlivet, the ‘single malt that started it all’. One of the many illicit distilleries that dotted the luscious Speyside region of Scotland, George Smith’s The Glenlivet Distillery was the first to push for, and obtain a legal permit to distill whisky.
The Glenlivet had attained such popularity that even King George IV himself enquired about tasting a dram of the infamous Speyside single malt that had captivated whisky lovers across the country. After the distillery obtain a legal permit to distill, other illicit distillers from the Speyside began threatening George Smith with dire consequences but the man did not give in.
Smith began carrying a pair of flintlock pistols to protect himself and his beloved distillery, forever etching this indomitable spirit into the brand’s legacy and principles. With the quality on offer, it did not take long for The Glenlivet to achieve an unprecedented success in the world of whisky.
Matured in carefully selected premium American Oak and ex-Sherry barrels, The Glenlivet 21-Year-Old is a breathtaking single malt whisky with intense flavors and an aromatic nose.
An age statement of 21 years guarantees exceptional smoothness, and the ex-Sherry finishing helps this single malt stand out and tower over many other variants in the market.
Every drop of The Glenlivet 21-Year-Old is distilled, matured and bottled at The Glenlivet Distillery with an emphasis on the individual quality of each barrel that is selected personally by the Master Distiller. The nose is individually judged, and the whisky from each barrel is approved only when it meets the parameters of The Glenlivet brand.
It is also the second oldest expression from The Glenlivet’s core range, and has performed exceedingly well at competitions worldwide.
